Press Release: Lexcase Service
Digitorney introduces new “Lexcase Service”
Amsterdam/Frankfurt am Main – May 28, 2020. Against the backdrop of the Corona pandemic and increasing restructuring needs of companies, Digitorney introduces the “Lexcase Service” as a new type of legal project management on the international level.
Particularly with regard to cross-border projects in the corporate crisis (e.g. financial restructurings, capital raisings, distressed M&A, share transfers, close-downs), companies can use the Lexcase Service. In this respect, Digitorney coordinates various legal workstreams of the project, involves specialized lawyers and tax advisors in the respective country, negotiates terms and conditions (mainly flat-rate prices for pre-defined consulting packages), takes care of the initial fact finding and briefing for local experts as well as the ongoing monitoring of the project (i.e. milestones, budget control) for the client.
"With our Lexcase Service, we address to companies that require professional and digitally based project management for legal aspects of their turnaround", explains Dr. Rüdiger Theiselmann, CEO of Digitorney. "In addition, insolvency administrators and corporate law firms can also make use of our Lexcase Service if they don’t have own capacities for international projects”, adds Gaby Baaijens, CFO and Head of EMEA at Digitorney.
Since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, Digitorney has successfully implemented the new Lexcase Service for a North American company and coordinated legal opinions on the consequences of the lockdown in eight countries. The remuneration model comprises a low monthly retainer and a moderate success fee. Through its subsidiaries in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and New York, Digitorney offers its Lexcase Service regionally and also globally interconnected. The implementation is digitally based via highly encrypted collaboration platforms with integrated document automation, artificial intelligence, digital workflow tools and video conferencing technology.
